The Bentley Guest House in York

York's most welcoming guest house offers you a friendly and helpful, high quality service.

York Guest HouseMargaret and Steve look forward to welcoming you to the Bentley, an elegant Victorian town house situated next to Bootham Park with views across to York Minster. We are just 10 minutes’ walk from the historic centre of York with its museums, galleries, shops and restaurants. We aim to offer you a friendly and helpful, high quality service.

The house and three bedrooms, all en suite, are characterfully decorated with interesting artifacts from our years working overseas as well as with English furnishings. There is a well stocked hospitality tray and all the little comforts which make a stay enjoyable and memorable.

For breakfast we source as much as we can locally - sausages and black pudding from a village on the edge of the dales, eggs from a farm near Thirsk. We bake white and wholemeal bread ourselves everyday; in January we make marmalade with Seville oranges from the market and in summer we pick fruit for our homemade jam on a farm at nearby Stockton on the Forest.

Parking is free on the street outside with a parking permit we supply for you.

The Bentley is an ideal place from which to visit the city on foot or from which to drive out to the many beauty spots, historic monuments and stately homes which abound in Yorkshire.

Do come and stay. We look forward to meeting you.
